What is Top Ten?
The top ten lists the best ten performances per year at World (FINA), National and Branch level for each gender, age group, stroke and distance, for long and short course pools.

FINA top ten times can only be recorded at FINA events and AUSSI sanctioned swim meets (including Branch sanctioned swim meets) for members 25 years and older. Times from swimmers with a registered
Medical Disability cannot be submitted for FINA Top 10 ranking, and AUSSI Aerobic times do not qualify for FINA Top 10.

AUSSI top ten times can be recorded by any AUSSI member (aged 20 years and
over) as above, at club time trials, and during
Aerobic or Postal Swims done in
pools.

Open water swims are not eligible for the Top 10.

The only timing requirements are that the swim must be recorded using an accurate stopwatch or AOE system (recorded to 1/100 secs) and that someone other than the swimmer records the time.

Automatic Recording of Times
If participating in an AUSSI sanctioned swim meet at National,
Branch or Club level where the sanctioned swim meet software is used, members’ swims are electronically transferred onto the Results, Records and Rankings Portal. Members who participate in the National Aerobic Program will have the final times/distance recorded in the National Aerobic Program Computer System (NAPCS) also transferred into the Results, Records and Rankings Portal. All performances, including the individual history of the swimmer, can be checked at any time on the Results, Records and Rankings Portal.

Manual Recording of Times
Swim meet results at all levels, especially
international events conducted outside Australia, may not be automatically entered onto the Results, Records and Rankings Portal. This also applies to any split time which is faster than a swimmer’s best time for that distance e.g. a member completing 5000m freestyle (in a 25m pool) could submit splits for the 25m, 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m and (if applicable) the 30min, 45min and 60min times for that one swim. The time must be continuous and the full distance completed in that one swim.

It is the swimmers responsibility to contact the Branch Recorder who will ensure all times are submitted. The swimmer should contact the Branch Recorder through the
Branch office.

Key Dates for Top Ten Submissions
The deadline for swimmers and Clubs to have Top Ten times submitted to Branch Recorders is usually 31st December, but may vary with each
Branch.

Branch Recorders must ensure that all submissions are listed on the Results/Record Portal by January 15th. This will enable the Chairman of Records to submit the times for FINA Top 10 by the required date.
